The fire was extinguished and extinguished by the Ashcroft Fire Department with the help of the host farm, and employees of the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority, a Canadian power company.

The hawk was carrying a fish in the air and dropped it at a low level. As a result, the fish hit a power line, creating sparks that fell onto dry grass and started a fire that spread to about 4,000 square meters.
The nearest river, where the hawk likely caught its prey, is about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from the fire scene.
The identity of the bird that dropped the fish is still unclear, but there is at least one theory.
The Ashcroft Fire Department suspects the size of the fish combined with the hot weather on July 30 “may have caused the bird to become quite tired and drop its prey.”
The fire, which caused a temporary power outage, was reported in Ashcroft, a village of more than 1,500 people, about 210 miles (338 kilometers) northeast of Vancouver.
As for the hawk, the fuel extraction energy report said, “our primary suspect is not providing any benefit in the work and is still working on its own.”
